Day 1: We spend the day in New York City. We stop for lunch at the famous Carnegie Deli before visiting Central Park, the site of the start of the race for Season 1. While in Central Park, we visit the Central Park Zoo. We then head for our hotel, the Hampton Inn-JFK, where we get a room for $249. For dinner, our restaurant choice is La Nora, an Italian restaurant in Howard Beach.
Day 2: We begin Leg 1 of the trip with a 10:40 a.m. flight to Johannesburg, South Africa on South African Airlines for $1,295.35 per person.
Day 3: The flight lands in Johannesburg at 8:40 a.m. Our hotel is the Radisson Blu Gautrain where our room is $263 per night. We spend the day relaxing at the hotel and at nearby sights.
Day 4: We spend the day at The Lion Park as well as the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve which are both nearby in Johannesburg. For dinner, our selection is one of the locations of The Local Grill, known for its grain fed and free range beef.
Day 5: We spend our final day in the city at the Johannesburg Zoo (click here for zoo map).
Day 6: Today we fly to Livingstone, Zambia via South African Airways. A roundtrip ticket costs $318.30 per person. The flight leaves at 10:40 a.m. and arrives at 12:30 p.m. Our hotel choice in Livingston is the Zambezi Sun, where rooms are $295 per night.
Day 7: We spend the day at and around the famous Victoria Falls. Our dinner selection is Ngoma Zanga, an authentic Zambian restaurant.
