Day 8: On our final day in Livingstone, we visit Lion Encounter, which allows you to walk alongside and interact with Lions.

Day 9: We fly back to Johannesburg via South African Airways. The flight leaves at 1:15 and arrives at 3:05 p.m. We decide to stay at a hotel near the airport and our choice is Southern Sun O.R. Tambo Hotel, where rooms are $150 per night.

Day 10: We relax in the hotel before leaving Johannesburg at 8:15 p.m. on Swiss Air International. Tickets cost $722.30 per person.

Day 11: We arrive in Zurich at 6:10 a.m. Our hotel in Zurich is the Sorell Hotel Seefeld, where rooms are $210 per night. We tour the city via the Circle Tour — a tour of the city by trolley and a cruise on the Lake of Zurich.

Day 12: We spend the day at Zoo Zurich (map of the zoo). Our dinner choice is Rolli’s Steakhouse.

Day 13: We depart Zurich at 7 a.m. via train and arrive at Paris at 11:34 a.m. The cost per person is $160. Our hotel choice is the Hotel Bassano where rooms are $300 per night. We take a tour in the afternoon on Les Cars Rouges Paris, an open-top bus (route map).

Day 14: We spend a second day touring Paris.
